First post on our holiday

We have just landed in Kentucky it is so amazing here my daughter is traveling from competition to competition. We have left our Farm in the safe hands of my brother and he will keep in touch so we know what is going on. We are hoping that this holiday cheers my son up after the loss of his favourite pony. So far we have visited the road ( we are still driving). We haven't seen any sites yet though we are going to an equestrian event tomorrow for me and my daughter. Wish us luck.

My sons Shetland Pony

My son who is only 9 years old has lost his first ever pony from Colic. Bubbles the Shetland died yesterday on the 16-03-2010 RIP bubbles. We will never forget you Bubbles and Cameron will never ever forget you. My son and daughter wrote a poem for him this is it

Bubbles you are so bright
Even when we went for a ride
you would through your head in pride
Sometimes when you ran and played
we would always shout hurray
And then when is was time to eat
you would always kick your feet
Bubbles we love you so much
we even put some flowers in a bunch
The flowers are just for you
and mummy and daddy will mis you too
Bubbles we will never forget
Bubbles we will always remember
and we will never surrender.

RIP Bubbles.

Horse Breeds

They are many types of horse breeds and each one has its own unique talent for example Thoroughbreds are bred to race while Arabians are bred for endurance races and for show. The main breeds are probably

(above) An Arabian horse, they are bred for Endurance races and for show, They have a dished face and they are good for out in the desert.

(above) A Thoroughbred is bred for racing, they are also and all rounder horse and are good for anything. They are good at cross country, Show jumping and Dressage and of course racing. These horses are bred for running.

(above) A Shetland Pony is bred for kids it is a family horse for little kids to learn to ride on. They are cute and cuddly and the perfect size for a small child.

(above) A Wormblood is a very expensive horse it is an all rounder horse good at jumping, dressage and cross country. They are a horse for an experienced rider.

There are alot more breeds but these are just the basic breeds you can get cross breeds as well and they are when you get two different breeds and breed them together.

Everlasting Spirit's story of how he survived

Breaking in a foal will be pretty easy if you have had the foal from birth but if you have a foal that has had a rough time then it could get a little tricky. I, my self have broken in many foals out at our farm but I once had trouble with a foal who had lost its mother and was left alone and came so close to death, he was very scared at everything but with alot of help and support for the little horse he came through. He is now competing in competitions and is my own horse. I named him Everlasting Spirit (Spirit for short) he is a Brumby and this is his story. The very first time I saw Spirit was when I was out riding in the mid west of Australia looking for some wonderful Brumby sittings when I was shocked to see this poor foal lying there all by him self, Spirit's mother had left him our was killed because she was know where in site. We took Spirit right back to the farm where it took 4 months to get him healthy again, there was a time when he almost died of bad health. Over those 4 months Spirit was trotting, cantering and galloping all by him self. Soon after we got the halter on him and he would let us lead him with the lead rope. Spirit grew very fond of my daughter, son and I, together we brought him up. When Spirit was older we got the bridle on him and the saddle and he learnt how to be ridden, at first Spirit would only let me ride him but soon after my daughter would ride him and she was the one who taught Spirit how to jump. My daughter kept on training Spirit until he got sick with colic and again came so close to death but after Spirit got better he was back into his training. He loved being ridden, he is the only horse I have ever seen that always wants to go for a ride. My daughter who is now 15 rides Spirit in Jumping competitions and Spirit has won over 10 competitions and he loves it. Spirit is now 6 years old and has been riding since he was 2 and will until he dies. And though Spirit's recovery took alot of strength and alot of time and effort he still made it. This shows that if you believe anything will happen and there is such thing as a miracle.

Horse and Rider

Horse and Rider, two wonderful creatures. The horse... elegant and free spirited, the rider... powerful and outgoing, when put together a everlasting bond is created. The horse will learn to trust and believe in the rider while the rider will love and cherish the horse. For those of you who dont treat the horse with respect are low headed and cruel, no you dont have to like horse but dont kill them and treat them badly. The horse and rider have the strongest bond on the earth they are always there for each other. When the ride they both feel the breeze in there hair not just one of them, and when they play they both feel happy. Together forever. Even those who dont know it yet will soon understand how amazing this bond really is and for those who do know it are the luckiest people on earth. I, myself share this bond with several horses of my own and I know that it becomes so strong that when it is time to say good bye it hurts so bad. We work together, live together, eat together, ride together and smile together the horse and rider are together always.

Thoroughbreds

Thoroughbreds, the worlds racing horse has now come to my blog. In real life I own my own Thoroughbred, he is an x racing horse and I have raced him once. This post is all about how to control and x race horse because as you horse lovers will know, an x race horse is very flighty and loves to run. If you are not a experienced rider then I would suggest to get a Thoroughbred that has never raced before but for you riders who knows your stuff then controlling an x race horse should be a breeze. For starters train your horse in a small paddock or arena so the horse doesn't have any where to run, also remember that you are in control don't let the horse take over. After alot of training in a small place you can slowly move the horse into bigger places and soon your horse wont run of without you knowing.
